I reached out to Muma Studios about this, and they suggested I go into Notification settings and. A bug in the latest version causes Rocket Player to scan your entire library every time you launch the app, and because of this my device shows that over the past week Media Storage (the system app that, as I understand it, is responsible for scanning media files) has been running for an average of 7 hours every day. Right? $29.99 is unreasonable AF, especially seeing as they don't have any ongoing costs like server maintenance and have only made both iSyncr and Rocket Player run far worse since taking over. consists entirely of a short paragraph lifted directly from a JRT site and is copyright Zipo Apps LTD. It appears JRT sold it's app catalogue to an Israeli app acquisition company called Zipo Apps Limited.

Have any of you been able to sync your media to your SD storage via Music Bee Sync?Īnd, by the way, it looks like Muma Studios is a more or less non-existent placeholder company. I have a large library and putting it all on the internal storage won't work. Like some of you all I thought Music Bee/Music Bee Wi-Fi Sync was the way to go but so far I haven't been able to to get it to sync to my SD card. Rocket Player still goes to the background seemingly randomly.īut since I've been reading about the bigger problems that people are having I figured it was only a matter of time before I'd need an alternative.

Other than that there have been some stability issues - Rocket Player keeps putting itself in the background - and there was a problem downloading a fresh copy of the Windows iSyncr desktop app when it stopped working, having something to do with Visual C++. I haven't yet been approached by the new owner to pay a monthly charge and both apps continue to work more or less as they always have - or at least did until a few days ago when both started aggressively nagging for feedback. I paid for and have been using the iSyncr (for Windows)/Rocket Player combo for two or three years now. I'm sure they had a good reason for selling, but it's a damn shame they sold to Muma. JRT Studios was great, and both devs were highly responsive to support inquiries and bug reports. Muma Studios have revealed themselves right out the gate by driving this app (along with Rocket Player, which now has a $29.99/m premium to remove excessive, intrusive ads) into the ground, and I seriously doubt this will ever change. I'm no YouTuber, but I might try to put together a tutorial on this whole process, specifically for anyone looking to abandon iSyncr once and for all. 2-way syncing of ratings and play-counts is also possible if using PowerAmp or Gone Mad Music Player as the on-device listening app.

I tested it out over lunch today with a partial sync, and was able to sync a playlist (along with ratings and play-counts), via Wifi, to my device very easily. Specifically, I need to be able to sync ratings between iTunes and my device.ĮDIT (): MusicBee seems to be the most viable alternative I can find ( more info here). They've also stopped supporting the original iSyncr and have re-released it (identical in every way, except the old version doesn't work anymore while the new one does), so anyone who bought the original will need to pay monthly for the functionality they already paid for.Ĭan anyone please suggest an alternative? I know Doubletwist has a sync app, but reviews for that don't sound promising. ISyncr was recently purchased by a new dev team, and along with butchering its functionality they've raised the price from a one-time $4 to $29.99/month-just to sync your existing iTunes library (playlists, ratings, etc.) to your device.
